Trailer Time! 300: Rise of an Empire

I don't know about this one you guys. I'm sure I'll see it, but I really love 300. Like a lot. Like a lot, a lot. I know it's not for everyone, but I love the hyperstylised look of it and the story of the last stand of the Spartans. However, I don't really know about this one, without Leonidas....But it looks like there's gonna be abs and action again, so I'll be there ;) (Also, please note it's now blue capes, instead of red, hilarious)

Trailer Time! The Wolverine (again!)

Another day, another great trailer! This time it's our second go round with "The Wolverine". I'm getting more and more excited for this movie you guys! Lots of action with some nice quiet character moments thrown in, looks good to me! Plus we finally get a good look at Viper!

What do you think?! Let me know!

Trailer Time! The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug!!!

YOU GUYS! It's here, the teaser trailer for 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug'! Peter Jackson teased the teaser on Facebook on Sunday, and has most certainly delivered! I know there were a lot of mixed emotions about the 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey', but I enjoyed it.
Looks like the action will be ramping up here in the middle frame of 'The Hobbit' trilogy. Bilbo and the dwarves have to deal with ginormous bears, spiders and elves who aren't nearly as friendly as the ones in Rivendell. And all that and it still looks like they're going to manage to make it through Lake Town to the Lonely Mountain by the end of the movie, whew! That's a lot of action, folks! Have a look!

And did you see?! Since we're in the Woodland realm, those elves include our old pal Legolas and his new friend...Kate from Lost? That's right, Evangeline Lily has put on the ol'elf ears and is firing off arrows with the best of them!
So! Excited? Trepidatious? Let me know in the comments!

Trailer Time!!! THE WORLD'S END!!!!

I.CANNOT.WAIT. Seriously. I want this movie to be out right now. When I went to see 'Shaun of the Dead' when I was in university I practically had to drag people to come see it with me. I knew the movie was going to be amazing, but for some reason my half finished film studies degree wasn't enough to trust me on this yet. I WAS NOT WRONG! And after everyone else got on the 'Shaun' train it took far less convincing to get people to see 'Hot Fuzz' with me. When Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost get together the end result will be gold. I guarantee this. The zombie movie? Check! The buddy cop movie? Check! ALIEN APOCALYPSE?! CHECKITY CHECK! So with all my fangirling over, behold: the trailer for the finale of the 'Coronetto Trilogy' 'The World's End.

EEEeeeeeee!!!!! So excited!!!!!

Trailer Time! Ender's Game

I can't tell you how excited I am for this movie. I only read 'Ender's Game' by Orson Scott Card for the first time last summer, and I absolutely loved it. That Card was able to jam so much story into so few pages blew my mind. Not only that, it was a story that just got into me, for any kid who just wants to fit, for any person who questions authority, for anyone who sees the futility and/or unbearable necessity in conflict; Ender's Game speaks to all of us. So needless to say, when I heard, shortly after finishing the book that they were making it into a movie, I was elated and apprehensive, as I always am when they adapt a book I love into a movie. But then they announced casting Asa Butterfield (who was phenomenal in The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and Hugo) as Ender Wiggin, Harrison Ford as Hyrum Gruff and Ben Kingsley as Mazer Rackham, and that excitement started to take over from the apprehension.
Here's the trailer, what do you think?

EXCITED YET?! And if you haven't read the book yet, GET ON THAT!

Yup, all that is coming up!

Trailer Time! Superman

Sweet. Baby. Jeebus. Are you spending your summer at the theatre? 'Cause after the new 'Star Trek Into Darkness' trailer earlier today and then this freakin' amazing trailer for the new Superman flick, 'Man of Steel', I'm pretty sure I will be. Looks like the summer is going to be full of heroes (Iron Man 3 as well folks!) and their kick-ass movies! What hero movie are you most looking forward to?! Let me know in the comments!

Trailer Time: Star Trek Into Darkness

Wow. You guys I'm super psyched for this new Star Trek movie, and not just becuase it will be featuring the amazing cheerkbones of Benedict Cumberbatch, but because it looks all out AWESOME! Agree, disagree? Discuss! (also did you notice the surprising lack of lens flares?)

Animation goes spoooooky

While I struggle with my other feature reviews lets do some more trailer reviews! Looks like those of us who are fans of fun spooky animation are going to be in for some treats this year!
First, in August we get to meet Norman, aka ParaNorman, a lonely social outcast who can see ghosts and ghouls. He has to summon up his powers to help save his town when an evil witch raises a zombie army. YAY! Colour me excited!

Then in September, we're all going to pack up our bags and head out to Hotel Transylvania. Dracula has set up a five stake resort for him and his spooky buddies to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle of being monsters. It's the lap of luxury and most importantly they can be themselves, that is, until Jonathan shows up and ruins everything. Also, it looks like we're staging an SNL reunion with the voice cast of this movie which features [among many others] Adam Sandler, David Spade, Molly Shannon and Andy Samberg. Most excitingly for me is that this movie is directed by Genndy Tartakovsky. I love this man. He brought me some of the greatest animated series of all time, including Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls  and my all time favourite Samurai Jack, of which I am still waiting impatiently for a movie to be made. [Maybe if this does well, it will be? EVERYONE SEE THIS MOVIE!]

Last but most certainly not least comes Tim Burton's Frankenweenie in October. Here's the thing about this one. I do love Tim Burton, his movies make me all kinds of happy, but I've already seen this one. Seriously, he made it back in 1984 as short film, and if like me you own the deluxe version of Nightmare Before Christmas then you've probably seen it already too. It's the story of Victor who brings his dog back Sparky back to life. I can only assume that there's more going on in the feature version, and of course I'll go see it, due to the aforementioned love of all things Burton, but still...seen it.

What do you think? Excited for this year's crop of spooky animated movies? Any other animated movies you're excited about this year?

New trailers that make me excited!

As the title suggests, I have a few more trailers that have caught my eye and have made me feel all giddy and excited! And I'm still trying to bang out my posts for Game of Thrones season one and John Carter, so here's some filler!
Number one! Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's new venture: 'Dark Shadows'. Already excited? I know I am, all I need to hear is those two names together and I'm all over it like pb on jelly! [or is it jelly on pb...? whatever] It has a pretty outstanding cast [Depp, Susan Sarandon, Jonny Lee Miller, Eva Green, Chloe Moretz, and of course, Helena Bonham Carter] and is apparently based on a TV show from the 70s that I've never heard of. Have a look!
Cool right?
Number two! This my very first post about a video game, and I'm kinda excited about it. I don't play a lot of video games, but there is one franchise that I'm kinda obsessed with: Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed. It's all kinds of amazing, and follows the adventures of the Assassins as they fight against the tyranny of the Templars, and jumps between slightly-in-the-future and various past eras. All of the instalments feature Desmond Miles in the slightly-in-the-future portions, who is a descendant of a long line of assassins, but the more fun parts happen in the past. The last instalment featured Ezio Auditore, who is all kinds of badass, scaling buildings, flying off towers, being super sneaky and assassinating people. He was awesome, but his story is done, and I was kind of sad about that...but look what we get now...

Effing sa-sweeeeet, riiiight?!!? I can't really express how supremely excited I am for this sucker, I wish it was October RIGHT NOW! Even if you aren't a gamer, you have to admit, the graphics are pretty frakking impressive.
That's all for now!....
I LIED! Here's one of the many Game of Thrones season two trailers to tide us all over til April 1st.

Snow White VS Snow White

So, as you have probably noticed, Hollywood is re-embracing the fairytale. Not that fairytales have ever really fallen out of popularity, they're retold and repurposed often, actually this reminds me...*runs away from the computer*
Aaaand I'm back! I just had to go put on my all-time favourite fairytale retelling, The 10th Kingdom, for a little background entertainment while I write. In 2000 Hallmark released this amazing miniseries that combined all the classic fairytales in an epic journey that reminded me how much I really loved all them. That being said, it probably won't surprise you that I have most definitely been following ABC's Once Upon a Time although Grimm just hasn't captured my attention. And it isn't just TV that's getting into that old fairytale feeling, they're making a come back on the big screen too! YAY! With Snow White and the Huntsman and Mirror, Mirror coming to a theatre near you this summer! Wait, hold on a second...I think...let's watch the trailers.

So, it would seem, for some reason, with alllll the options out there two movies about Snow White are going to be coming out in the same summer. I mean, sure, she's the fairest of them all, and all that jazz, and I know Hollywood generally has a hard time being original, but seriously? Don't these people talk to each other? Maybe they figured we all love fairytales so much that we wouldn't notice they were making movies with the same characters that will surely come out within weeks of each other. Sadly, what I'm sure what it will come down to is who makes the most money, as it always does in Tinseltown.
As previously mentioned, I do love fairytales, so it's more than likely that I will see both these movies. So let's see what the trailers are telling me...
Snow White and the Huntsman: Charlize "The Evil Queen" Theron rules a kingdom with her beauty ['beauty is my power'] and when her cool liquid mirror tells her there's another that might eventually rival her beauty and she should 'consume her heart' to 'live forever'. Just so happens that this 'other' is Kristen Stewart...who kind of drives me crazy, but that's only because of how godawful the character of Bella Swan is [Yes, I've watched the Twilight "Saga", yes, I know I should know better]. So, I suppose I should give her the chance to redeem herself, I'm openminded that way. Plus we have the handsome Chris Hemsworth with what sounds like a Scottish accent, so that might've sold me right there. And there look to be some good ol' fashioned battles happening in there...Let's call this movie a fairytale epic, 'cause that seems to be what it thinks it is.
Mirror Mirror: Let's be honest folks, the movie looks WAY more fun than the last one! I love a little humour from my Evil Queens, especially when they are Julia Roberts! Plus we've got Nathan Lane and Armie Hammer in there. Dancing, exquisite costumes, looks like good times to me! Plus Lily Collins seems much more Snow White-y to me than Stewart. But what really seals this movie [that I will dub a fairytale adventure, which is MUCH different from a fairytale epic] as the winner for me, even though you don't see him, is Sean Bean as the King. What can I say I love me some Eddard Stark! [Winter is Coming]
What do you think? Going to see either of these fairytale flicks when they hit theatres this summer?

I'm baaaack!!!

Hello Internets!
I have returned from my not-as-brief-as-I-meant sabbatical from the blogosphere. Hockey is finished for a couple months, and even though Wimbledon is on, a fortnight of wonderful tennis just isn't as all consuming as watching your favourite team almost win the Stanley Cup.
Not only did I miss posting for almost a month I also missed a couple of weeks of movies while I was wrapped in my ice cocoon, but I'm making up for it with a vengeance here! Last week I saw Super 8 and X-Men: First Class and I fully intend to see two more movies for tomorrow's Matinee Monday...although what those two movies are I'm not quite sure yet, there sure are a lot of options out there right now!
I also have a couple of long overdue posts to put up; Kung Fu Panda 2, as well as the trailer reviews from April and May. So, I hope that it goes without saying that you, Internet, are going to be seeing a lot of me in the next week or so! July's fast approaching and I have massive amounts of travel to do, a couple of weddings and then for the REAL trip, San Diego Comic Con with my most excellent friend Craig. Not to worry, I'm looking forward to all the movies coming out in the next month, so I will spending lots of time at the theatre too!
See you soon!!

March Trailer Wrap Up

Welcome to the March Trailer Wrap Up! I'm sure you've all been waiting with bated breath to see how long it would take me to get this sucker out! No 16 days late this month!! Last month I had a friend say that she had to go and track down all the trailers that I mentioned but didn't include on the original post! My bad! This time around I'm including even more trailers AND links to all the ones that I don't post here. Now onto this months trailers!

First for February was the 'The Adjustment Bureau'. Unsurprisingly all the trailers attached to this flick were potential blockbusters that are on their way. First there was Transformers 3. Now, I'm not really sure why they've gone ahead and made another Transformers movie, but I'm pretty excited that there's no Megan Fox in this one. I may let myself down and see this one in theatres. There's just something about seeing this type of movie on the big screen, they're so loud and full of explosions that just can't quite be equalled on a home theatre system. Then there's Source Code, when I saw the trailer I hadn't heard of the movie and thought it looked pretty interesting, now I'm thinking it might in fact be the movie I see tomorrow. I'm a Jake Gyllenhaal fan anyways, and a well told sci-fi-ish drama is always good in my books. Then came Fast Five. When the trailer first started, I thought to myself, 'Mmm, this looks interesting.' Then I heard Vin Diesel's voice, and I thought 'Oh no, they didn't, did they?' And then I saw Paul Walker running and I knew, for some, inexplicable reason, yet another addition to the Fast and the Furious franchise was on our hands. And this time Dwayne The Rock Johnson's joined the cast, cue exasperated eye roll from this girl. I haven't seen one since 2 and I won't be seeing this one either. Last but most certainly not least was the trailer for Paul, and I think we all know how I feel about that, see previous post here. It sure made up for having to watch the 'Fast Five' trailer.

Next up was 'Rango'. And I have to admit I was super psyched for the trailers for this one, kids movies are so much fun! However the first trailer was for Born to Be Wild and it doesn't look so much like fun, but educational and heart warming and not something I generally see in threatres. BUT it does have the wonderful voice of Morgan Freeman to make my ears happy.
Then there was the Zookeeper. Kevin James in what appears to be a Doctor Dolittle/Night at the Museum crossover. Pass. I was getting a little concerned that I wasn't going to like any of the trailers I saw but I was finally saved when the preview for 'Rio' started. This looks like another well done flick from the folks who made 'Ice Age', they've replace the ice and snow with the beaches and bright colours of Rio... and a macaw voiced by 'The Social Network's Jesse Eisenberg. I'm totally there.
Then from our friends who have now made four, count 'em four, 'Shrek' movies and still can't seem to give up the franchise comes Puss in Boots. Thank goodness, I don't think I could take a Donkey movie. Antonio Banderas is great as this character, but I'm just not sure if it needs it's own movie. I'll reserve judgment until I start to hear the reviews, but the trailer's pretty cute.
My final animated trailer comes from a movie I already know I'm going to see, Kung Fu Panda. I wasn't sure about the first one, since Jack Black's so hit and miss, and it ended up being hilarious, and this one looks like it won't disappoint!

When I finally saw 'Paul' after waiting so long to see I was actually pretty curious to see what previews would be attached to it. They certainly did not disappoint, I'm looking forward to seeing all four of them later this year. I think I mentioned in the February trailer post that I'm really looking forward to X-Men: First Class, even though Marvel has a way of letting me down with characters that I love. Also James MacAvoy is awesome, and I hadn't seen 'Jane Eyre' yet, but Michael Fassbender who played Rochester stars opposite MacAvoy's Charles Xavier as Erik Lehnsherr, the man who would be Magneto, which makes me even more excited! Next up was 'Arthur'. I know that Russell Brand is a little odd, and not everyone 'gets' him, but I personally think he's a comic genius. He stole every scene he was in in 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' and now he gets to carry a movie on his in this one, sharing the screen with the always wonderful Helen Mirren. I know it's a remake of the Dudley Moore version, a version I haven't seen, but I don't know if I'll even bother, I don't know if I'll want the running comparison going on in my head while I watch the new one.
Then I got to see another trailer for Bridesmaids. As previously stated, I'm all over this one. Judd Apatow, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph. Yes, yes and yes. The final trailer before I finally got to see 'Paul' was for 'Your Highness'. I'm aware that it looks silly, and is trying to appeal to the men 18-35 demographic, however, I think it looks funny and I'm looking forward to see if Natalie Portman can pull off an outright comedy to follow up her Oscar win, and if James Franco can redeem himself for his not-so-hot Oscar hosting.

I was actually surprised by the trailers I saw when I went to see 'The Butcher the Chef and the Swordsman'. I figured seeing as it was a foreign movie there would be foreign trailers attached to it. Not so much, I had to sit through another reminder that 'Fast Five' is actually coming to theatres, blech. I got to see the 'Bridesmaids' and 'Kung Fu Panda 2' trailers again and then there was finally a trailer for Snowflower and the Secret Fan, it looks like beautiful cross-generational film about friendship. When I look back at the previews here I have to think that the theatre didn't know what type of person would be watching 'The Butcher, the Chef and the Swordsman,' so they attached one trailer for each general demographic, including kids...which is weird, 'cause this wasn't a kid movie at all.

My final movie for March was 'Jane Eyre'. And I finally saw some trailers that I hadn't seen yet. First was the new Brad Pitt/Sean Penn movie 'The Tree of Life'. Visually, it looks really amazing, but I honestly have no idea what the movie's about after watching the trailer. Watch it, let me know if you figure it out. But I guess it does make me curious to see the movie, so I guess the trailer worked.
Then I got to see a preview for the Golden Globe and Academy Award winner for Best Foreign Language Film, 'In a Better World'. This Danish film looks like it's right up my alley and I'll have to keep and eye out to see if it actually comes to town.
Next up was 'The Conspirator'. It follows the trial of the only woman co-conspirator in the Lincoln assination, starring James MacAvoy [someone's having a busy summer!] and Robin Wright. It looks pretty darn good, even though I'm generally a fan of American flag waving flicks. It's going on my ever growing list of movies to see this year.
My final March trailer was Miral. It's also politically charged, but this time it's the Middle East, not post Civil War America. However, it looks like it will be quite good, and I think it's received some positive attention at the festivals it's been screened at this year. Another for me too see? Probably. With all the good movies coming out this year, I don't know how I'm going to have the time or the money to see them all, let alone the energy to write a blog post about all of them! I think some time management might be in future!
Until tomorrow [or more likely, Tuesday] have a good one and watch some trailers!

February Trailer Round Up

Yes, I'm aware that we are sixteen days into the month of March, so the round up of the February trailers is super overdue, but here they are now!!
Now, technically I saw '127 Hours' in January. But its' trailers didn't get included in the last round up and since February is a short month we're going to go ahead and tack them on to this post. First we have Disney's new Earth Day, feel good documentary 'African Cats.' I didn't go and see their other ones, but I kinda love big cats, so there is a possibilty I might see this one...but probably at home. It feels like a renter. Then came the first of the 'Paul' trailers I saw this month. I honestly CAN NOT WAIT for this movie to come out already. I know I mentioned it before, but I love Simon Pegg and NIck Frost, so be prepared when that review comes, I'm pretty sure I'm going to love the movie even if it's awful, which I sincerely doubt it will be. Then we had a trailer for a festival-y movie that I've never heard of 'Today's Special'. And I'm sure any other Canadian that grew up in the 80s will immediately think of that show with the mannequin in the department store, but sadly this is not a big screen adaptation of that one. This is instead the story of an Indian man who is a sous-chef in a fancy restaurant who has to take over the [failing] family restaurant when his dad gets sick. It looks like one of those sweet rediscover-your-roots kind of movies...thaaaat I'll probably rent. Last and most certainly least was 'Sanctum.' I don't think I can over emphasize enough how much I am done with James Cameron. It's not that I think he makes bad movies, although this one looks pretty stinky, it's just that I can't stand him. And unlike Quentin Tarantino and the Coen Brothers, who's movies I never miss in theatres, Cameron's starting to make me want to miss all his movies so that he might not ever talk in public again. Also, he's a big 3D pusher, and I think we all know how I feel about 3D...no? It's the worst.

Next up was 'The Illusionist'. Despite being a total not for kids animated movie the trailers for this were both for animated kids flicks, 'Gnomeo and Juliet' and 'Rango'. Obviously, I've already seen 'Rango'. Thought it was great, think you should see it too. I think 'Gnomeo and Juliet' looks adorable, but I think it's yet another renter from this round of trailers.

If you remember, my mum accompanied me to 'Barney's Version' The first trailer was a second 'African Cats' for me, but it was the first one for her. But, she adamantly told me she wouldn't see it, and I quote, "because one of them will die." This is her reasoning for not seeing a LOT of movies, but she may be right. Then came 'The Butcher, The Chef and the Swordsman' which is this cool looking Chinese action flick. The movie's foreign, filled with stylized violence and humour. Check, check and check! If it comes to a theatre here in VanCity, I will most definitely go to see it. The last trailer was a Sundance flick, the Jodie Foster directed 'The Beaver'. It stars Mel Gibson, and I think we all know what kind of 2010 that guy had...that being said, this movie about a man who finds a stuffed beaver and starts to use it to relate to his world looks interesting and something that I might like...despite the leading man being bonkers in real life as well.

My last flick of February, and this trailer round-up was 'Cedar Rapids'. Four trailers and four yes' from this girl! First up was 'Paul'...again. I know, you would think that after seeing the trailer so many times my excitement would diminish, but NO! I still want to see it just as much as the first time I saw it! Next was the trailer for SNL's Kristen Wiig's first leading lady role in 'Bridesmaids'. This lady is hilarious. And this movie looks like it probably will be as well. Look for scene stealer, Melissa McCarthy, also hilarious.

Then came the new X-Men flick, 'X-Men: First Class'. I have to share, I'm a GIANT comic's nerd, and I love the X-Men. And while the last couple of X-Men movies were pretty disappointing, I think this one looks like it has promise...and James MacAvoy[!!!] But I'll reserve judgement until I see it. Until then, enjoy the pretty awesome trailer.

The last trailer for February was for 'Water for Elephants'. Let me say first and foremost, READ THIS BOOK! It's amazing and beautiful. That being said, this looks like a pretty good movie in and of itself. Christoph Waltz and Reese Witherspoon are both amazing actors and I'm still on the fence about 'Twilight' pretty boy Robert Pattinson. He's not fantastic, but that could be because he's in a franchise that's written to appease millions of rabid fans [I mean the dialogue's a tad wooden] Other than 'Harry Potter' where he was pretty good I haven't seen anything else with him in it. I feel if he does well it will give me new respect for him but if he ruins one of my new favourite books, SO HELP ME ROBERT! I WILL TRACK YOU DOWN AT COMIC-CON AND GIVE YOU WHAT FOR!!!

That's all for this month's [very late] trailer wrap up! I know what I'm going to see, what about you?

Trailer Round-Up!

As promised here's a quick round-up of the trailers I saw during my January matinees. I ended up seeing all of these by my lonesome, so I missed one of the great parts of trailer time at the theatre, discussing with my movie buddy which trailers have enticed us to come back to theatre to see them! Here we go!

While I wasn't overly impressed with the 'Green Hornet' I DID like the trailers, well for the most part at least. I've been reading little snippets about 'Priest' for a while now, and had a general idea of what it was about, but now that I've seen the trailer, I'm totally down. I adore Paul Bettany, and Karl Urban, and movies set in dystopian futures. So needless to say, I'll be there!

There was also a trailer for Zack Snyder's [of '300' and 'The Watchmen' fame] next outing 'Sucker Punch'. It's full of chicks kicking ass, and while I'm a little wary on the "plot" of this one. She kills her dad and is sent to an asylum and there's a dystopian world she can access with the other girls? I think...But since I DO have an affinity for the dystopian AND Zack Snyder's awesome visual style, I'll probably see it anyways.
Then there was trailer for one of the movies I'm most looking forward to seeing this spring, 'Paul'. I LOVE Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, ['Shaun of the Dead' and 'Hot Fuzz' are two of my favourite all-time flicks] and even though this outing is just them without Edgar Wright at the helm it still looks hilarious. Two British nerds touring America's alien hotspots find their very own extra-terrestrial, voiced by Seth Rogen, and hide him from some government agents. Throw in a little Jane Lynch and Kristen Wiig, yes please!
Then there was 'Battle: LA.' Meh. Aliens are attacking the United States. Again. There's a bunch of army guys in LA that need to fight them, except the aliens are seemingly invincible, blah, blah. Lots of explosions. Whatever. No thanks.

After 'The Green Hornet' I headed over to 'The Fighter' which also had an impressive selection of trailers and surprisingly only one repeat. First there was the Anthony Hopkins thriller 'The Rite,' which I'd already seen a ton of trailers for and had decided it wasn't up my alley. I like Hopkins and all, but all these 'evil' movies just end up being BORING.
Then there was another trailer for 'Battle: LA'. This was a different trailer than the one I'd seen just two hours earlier. And honestly, this trailer, with practically no dialogue, makes me almost want to see the movie. But I've seen the other trailer, so it's still a no.
The 'Blue Valentine' trailer was absolutely lovely and I have to say I'm surprised that I haven't seen it yet, I love me a good romantic drama.
Sophia Coppola's newest 'Somewhere' also looks wonderful. Stephen Dorff is hit and miss for me, I mean honestly, the only things I can remember him being in in the last little while are 'Blade' and that Britney Spears video. HOWEVER, this one looks great and pair him with Elle Fanning and I think we have a winner. At least that's what the trailer looks like, and that's the beauty of trailers, isn't it?
Last of the trailers for the day was 'The King's Speech'. Now I'm being a little biased, as I've now seen the whole movie. But it's much better than the trailer makes it out to be. Yes, it's the story of a royal with a speech impediment, but it's also so much more. But then again, there's only so much you can fit into a two-minute trailer. Do yourself a favour and see 'The King's Speech' there is a good reason it's winning all kinds of awards.
And speaking of 'The King's Speech' while I was watching it there only two measly trailers. And sadly ones I'd already seen; 'The Rite' and 'Somewhere'. However, watching them again reinforced that I do want to see 'Somewhere' and I don't want to see 'The Rite'.
That's it for January! I'll be back at the end of February, or if this post is an indicator, in early March, with my round-up of the trailers I saw in February.
Now I need to plan my matinee for tomorrow!
